THE HIP-HOP ARCHITECT LECTURE AND YOUTH WORKSHOP

THE HIP-HOP ARCHITECT LECTURE & YOUTH WORKSHOP

BosNOMA is pleased to announce that we will be hosting an event with Micheal Ford (aka the Hip-Hop Architect) August 3rd & 4th at the BSA.

Michael Ford is a designer, researcher and the founder of Hip-Hop Architecture. Over the past decade, Ford has been working to blur the lines between professional practice and academia. He is dedicated to stimulating cross disciplinary discourse between practitioners and residents on the sociological and cultural implications of architecture and urban planning on its inhabitants. Ford has spoken about the impact of modern urban architecture in communities at TEDx Madison in 2016, was part of a keynote panel at the A’17 Conference on Architecture in Orlando, FL, and is launching his book, Hip Hop Architecture 101, this summer.

If you’re interested in attending this event, please be sure to RSVP on the BSA website. Also, you can find the Facebook event page here.

We are looking for 7-8 volunteers (a ratio of 1 volunteer to 5 youth attendees) to help facilitate the workshop.  If you or someone you may know is interested in applying to be a volunteer please fill out the application and submit by July 21st at 5 pm. Please find the application here. Volunteers will be notified by July 28th.
